Fight the tide if you wish but O/P machine use is growing in the US and Canada because .......with the right product and the best pads they do an excellent job. So good apparently, that T/M operators are going over to O/P cleaning.

Anyone whose paid out thousands of pounds for a T/M is unlikely to want to hear they could have a very effective cleaning system for a tenth of their ouitlay which costs pennies per job, can be carried around in a small van, has high productivity and gives clients what they want.

I was amazed at the results I achieved with my Texahterm system and they would have been even better with an o/p machine.

I wish I had one. It would extend my c/c for a few more years.

I guess it is purely a matter of what standard of cleaning you personally (and not the client) set yourself
Run a t/m & have also used the pad system.    Although I can produce the same visual result in a much faster time by 'rag spinning'  - having tested both operations side by side - the HWE via the t/m actually produces a technically cleaner end product than the pad.   Is that why they call the second method 'muck spreading?

i've been struggling with an orbital for a few months, to compare it to a ordinary rotary is like compering a T/M to a portable.... although they technically do the same thing the orbital does a much better job.

it was said on the ics forum that a rotary glides across the carpet just skimming the dirt but a orbital dig into the carpet, it moves slower across the carpet but leaves no swirl marks they really do clean well. i have been using it as a an agitator before using the T/M but on some jobs i have persevered and done an excellent job and not used the T/M

if i can find a  chemical to go with it I think it could be a winner (at the moment  I'm using nemesis)

I will add it is extremely hard to use
