Sunny Day Out 2010
« on: June 14, 2010, 08:09:37 pm »
We are thinking of arranging a Carpet Cleaners Sunny Day Out, possibly in July.
A sunny Day out is a chance for us all to get together, have a few beers the night before and then attend the event the next day. The whole idea of an SDO is to get carpet cleaners from all parts of the country together in one place and compare or try each others equipment. We will have most of the big suppliers there with all their latest machines and accessories to try and haggle over.

In the past these events have been geared more towards the Truck Mount community as it is organised by the Truck Mounter's Forum, but this year we thought it would be a really good idea to throw it open to the entire industry regardless of what equipment you use. This a really good opportunity to meet up with people you may have only encountered on the forums and so can put names to faces and swap experiences and of course meet new people.

This is a non-profit event and our aim as always is to keep the cost of attendance to as near zero as possible, but that all depends on the venue costs which in the past have been on the basis of getting the rooms for free in exchange for cleaning the carpets.

The venue is not decided yet but may be either Leyland or Wolverhampton and we would aim to hold it on a Sunday if possible.

If we were to go to the trouble or arranging this event, who would be interested in attending.

Glyn & Simon
Regards
Glynn

I'm (only!) a porty user, but would enjoy the day out!
Preferably late in July though.
Doing the best job in the world as well as I can

Very interested in attending.  This is the original SDO which has always been a good day out and have met many faces on the board in the past that i had only chatted to on the forums before.
Glyn, this time can we keep the pictures original instead of having about 10 of me......im sure you still have them pictures somewhere from years ago  ;D

only a porty user??? thats shocking!
we are porty users who are damn good carpet cleaners... dont put us down with such a negative attitude.

Well said, but I don''t think Phillip meant it in a negative way.... He was being tongue in cheek!!!!

The very fact Phillip said "(only!) with exclamation mark and brackets around the word does highlight he was not knocking porty users.

Thats the problem with forums, communication can very easily be misinterpreted.

Phillip

At least your porty isn't as old as your van ;)

Safe and happy cleaning :)

PS I'm certainly interested, whether Leyland or Midlands, conditional upon personal circumstances.

Hope certain people dont turn this topic into a needless langing match.  When i read Phillips post i never looked at it in ANY WAY as been knocking portables.  In fact the way i read it is.....the fact he has said he only uses a portable and the fact Glyn have opened the doors to all systems at the next SDO is a good thing.

Joe,
Really dont think it was a case of misinterpreted communication.

Richie.
