Work for sale? Anyone heard of
« on: June 02, 2010, 06:54:26 pm »
Had a guy phone today, claims to have £500 of work for sale.
He hasn't done it, just canvassed it. It's ready to be done now.
Doesn't live down here, lives in a Hotel. Reckons he has sold work to others before.

His name is Steve Nugent, ring any bells?
Reckons loads have bought off him.
But of course he would say wouldn't he.

All seems a bit dodgy to me, or am I being to suspicious

Hi Sparklebright,

He phoned me today, said he had £6,000-£7,000 per year's worth in your area. I didn't want it as our nearest man is Herne Bay, and as it only works out at about £500 a month (£120 a week) it isn't enough to get me excited.

I don't know anything about him, but he has phoned me a few times trying to sell me work.

If you're interested get him to show you some of it so you can see if it's any good, then offer him staged payments - one week at a time till you've got all you want - that way if it isn't what he says, at least you haven't paid out for the whole lot and lost it.

Cheers Ian.
That's the sort of approach I thought too.
He claims to have sold work to people down here. I know most of the locals I'll ask him who has bought, see if he can back up his claim.
I don't absolutely need to buy work, but I never reject things out of hand
I think he lives in Maidstone actually.
