sure can - no problem.

Just tell your customer from the first clean onward that you will be cleaning in all but freezing temperatures and offer them the usual guarantee that if they dont dry clean then to call you within 48 hours and you will re-do any affected windows again.

never had to go back to one in two and a half years ( but tds is always 000 )

Of course you can providing you don't mind doing a less than perfect job

If its pouring it down some of the windows are gonna get the run off from above and that will leave marks

Personally I think it looks less professional when you turn up 2 weeks late because of bad weather.

However that doesnt mean cleaning in the rain is okay.

From what you are saying on a scale of 0-10 (10 being the least acceptable) being 2 weeks late ranks at 10 and cleaning in the rain ranks at 8.

0 being on time cleaning in weather like this without a single run, smear, gate left open, bathroom window ignored at a rate where the custard is happy to suggest they give you a rate increase.

Doesn't mean its professional by any stretch of the imagination.

i think if you offer a guarantee its fine

unless you work for yourself and no staff and are happy to lose a day or so , what kind of business can keep knocking off work in the rain??

i only want to take 4 weeks off work a year for my own holidays any more for bad weather is cutting into my earnings , no thanks

but i am paying a wage which is ever increasing so its different now, i have stopped for the rain in the past when it didnt matter so much but now id rather have everything upto date no matter except for the most serious of bad weather...

i remember three years ago it rained constant from dec till february. well at least it felt like it.

New fangled window cleaning systems may be different, but my dad always worked in the rain. If customers complained he pointed out that rain didn't get windows dirty, dirt did. That said, I don't intend working when it's pouring down. Light rain never hurt anyone.

Use your own judgment. There was one day last week it would be nice and sunny one moment then it would be torential rain the next, I just jumped into the van untill it passed. If it was heavy rain for a prolonged period I'd pack it in untill it had passed, if it is just light rain then I'd crack on and as has been said if any customer isn't happy that your cleaning in the rain then just point out that you offer a profesional regular service and that it is essential that you clean in all but the most extreme weather and if they aren't happy with the result of the clean to let you know within 48 hours and you will inspect and reclean if need be.

It's not desperate to clean in the rain it is business, but common sence has to be used. If it is that heavy that it is like standing under a shower best to stop.

I did a first clean yesterday in constant rain on a very large mansion (aprox 100 windows/doors).  The panoramic multi-paned ballroom windows were full reach on my 25ft slx. 

Phoned customer today as part of my usual customer service.  Very pleased with results - so yes - you can clean in rain but be prepared that you might have to go back.  If you do have to return, it would only likely to be a quick brush and rinse as you will have already got rid of the worst.

One last point - make sure you have thoroughly scrubbed and rinsed the top frame otherwise the rain will wash any muck down after you have left.

I Clean in the rain as i agree you are providing a service  which i did tell my customers first when i tooked them on.

In heavy rain i sit and wait in the van for a break in it, as it can take longer but i get the job done. As it only rains on one side of most buildings.

Least i wont rust or seize up lol
