If you can produce water and store it , I would suggest going for an 300 gpd RO system mate...

its a 25 litre D.I.
 
 I was thinking of an R.O but I gather a lot of waters wasted and I'm on a water meter.

get urself a 40/40 m8 look after it & it will look after u

u will need a ro,  u could do it with di only, but i think it would be really expensive

You will use up the resin very very quickly and will get sick of changing it.
You will find plenty of info on here regarding Reverse Osmosis - 40/40 as Hitman says is the best size to go for, with a few other bits and pieces.

it will cost you in the region of £170 a month to use a tds of 300 and di only. that is assuming you use 4000litres a month

It depends on the size of house I guess.

If its a £5 house and you want to do 20 a day to earn £100 thats £3.20 per day £16.00 per week. Then its £800 per year! Thats a lot.

Even if its for a £10 house its a lot. £400 per year.

At 300ppm I would RO.

Suppliers tell you the cost per house because it seems very little but it adds up over time.

Don't worry about a water meter. I'm on a meter that's why i brought a ionics pro 6. I have an issue with the resin as i don't think it's lasting as long as it should, and that's a ro system. Mate your burn your resin in less than two week's with that TDS reading. you have to go with a RO.

What are the running costs over a year and over the Pro 6's lifetime, inc purchase?

I have a pro r-o system in my van to which i can fill my 650lt up in aound 3 hours, my tds reading are around 350. it suits me to have it in all in one place

A mate of mine has one of these buget r-o systems to which he has similar tds reading it takes him aprox 20 hours to fill up he leaves it running day and night to fill a 250ltr tank he never turns it off and he has very cheap running costs but he has to plan ahead

Another freind of mine has a 25ltr di vessel full of purolite he works with his wife with two trolley's 4days per week & it lasts them just over a month they use around 3000ltr's per month before having to replace the resin, this suits them because they live in a 3rd story flat  & have no where to store their equipment so to have pure water on demand suits them.

So it depends on your buget and what suits you

I was looking for figures £'s based on what you spend for the machine and running costs.

 Hi Stuart, i invested around £3000 in my van system and that is what i roughly earn on a good month my running costs are exstreamly low, i supose what i was getting at with the guy who posted the question was it depends how serious he is and how much he has to chuck at it you get what you pay for

im also on a water meter but my tds is normally 35-40tds.is this ok for DI ONLY?
