If you make water with resin,  its toxic , so yes... if its filtered through a ro, its fine.

I think you'll find the change in PH over tap water is minimal. What is there in your ro system that changes the ph?
Does it make your water acidic or alkaline?

If it did kill them, we would all probabbly know about it now, water doesnt stay pure for long.

pH is down to how much hydrogen ions are present, more ions the higher the pH and more base(alkaline) the water is, as we pass it through a DI vessel it filters out some of those ions thus making the pH lower and more acidic.

Quick answer, NO it wont harm the plants. as soon as it comes into contact with the soil it is no longer pure. When passing it through filters and vessels ect we are adding nothing to the water just removing impurities.
Sounds like another story that a trad cleaner will pass round to put customers off WFP, as for drinking it why not, its pure

Agree it won`t kill plants, but as you say murdie window cleaning as soon as it comes into contact with the soil it is no longer pure, that`s what causes spotting as soon as the pure water hits dirty windows then it is no longer pure hence why you have to scrub and rinse well, sorry it`s a bit of topic but you hit the nail on the head there!

I have been using pure for years to water my bay trees with no ill effects, but as for drinking it, not sure I would want to try, Justin Ruggles did it a few years ago and got quite ill for about 3 months.
I was told the resin we use is commercial grade, If you want to drink it you need to use food grade.

In short it's not going to kill the plants.  Pure water falls from the sky all the time and the plants seem to like that.

The pH does drop slightly with pure water as the water takes carbon out of the air, the hotter the water the more reactive it is, so the more carbon it takes from the air causing to become even more acidic.  I did a pH test to prove this to myself and posted the results in the form of photos a few years ago.

What I would say though is why waste pure water on plants?

The worst thing RO water can do to plants is when it lands on the leaves on a sunny day.

The droplet will act like a magnifying glass, just like when you used to burn ants in the playground. The evidence of this is spotting on the leaves where the leaf has become damaged.

pure water won't kill garden plants, but if you drop some on a Mugwy it will turn into Gremlins.

As for water on leaves burning them, think of a field of plants after a shower, covered in droplets of water.  If it were a serious problem, the plants would all croak.

No they wouldnt, not if it isn't a particularly hot day. Scorching doesnt automatically mean croak.

It isnt just something my imagination figured might happen, it is something I know is the case from experience in a previous career. I was involved in farming and horticulture. Liquids are sprayed on plants regularly, there are not many ideal spraying days in the year due to  inclement weather conditions, dew droplets combined with heat being one of the negative criteria required.
