Heard some stories about bulgarian and polish and other eastern european guys doin to window cleaning what they have done to car washing. Anyone seen evidence of this type of movement?
If so should we be worried? Your thoughts please......

i picked up a big house recently, the old cleaner had a polish fella working with him, the customer said that although he worked hard he just couldnt trust him to be on the property. I cant see them taking many customers really unless they work for someone else as the majority of them cant even speak english so how will they canvass

They wouldn't be able to canvass, and dont think many people would want them all over their property while they were out. Plus next time your at one of the car wash places, calculate their hourly rate, don't think they would mess about undercutting WC's!

its lucky that the east europeans havnt got a grasp on the window cleaning game, it really is .  ive known a few lithuanians and  once they sense money , they work like Trojans .

 as said above they most likely cant get a foothold with the canvassing ,and their strange eyes means theyre often distrusted  .over time those eyes will mix with our British blood but hopefully i will be retired by then ! I HOPE !!

its not just cheap foreigners, what about the cheap british,  u know the type,  3 bed houses for a 5  do 6 then off pub,  they will all be getting the ladders and scrim out now the sun is here,  work till oct then jack it in, tehn turn up to there custys next may

I always think if you look smart, turn up when you say you will, do a good job for a fair price....Then the customer drops you as someone will do the job for a £1 less then these customers are not worth having.

Lots of them at it round here but they tend not to undercut, in fact they charge top price,  they are grafters alright - no doubt about that.

I've worked with & employed Polish, brazilian, russian & latvian workers and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the vast majority of them put us guys to shame. They work harder, are more reliable & more trustworthy than many local workers. Of course they aren't all like that, you do still get one or 2 bad apples, but its the same with any nationality.
I doubt they're going to "take over" any time soon though because of the prevalent attitude (as displayed here) of mistrust towards foreign workers. They do find it much harder to get work (and gaining work as a self-employed cleaner would undoubtedly be harder again), and often get paid less for doing the same job. I wonder how we'd be treated if we wanted to go to their country to work?

they got looking busy down to a fine art-look busy when someones watching
 but when you look at what they achieve at the end of the day the work is often inferior and not a lot has been done
theyve ruined there respective counties now they are doing it to ours
they can afford to work for a lower rate as there is 6 to a bed -

you wiil also spend more of your own time re-doing work and supervising there works--

a lot of people are afraid to  say what they really think
they are no good for this countries economy
there are millions of illegals here putting nothing into this countries future

they are all lazy i wouldnt employ any of them

also i spent 7 years working in germany and holland
when thatcher killed the british economy
doing work that the germans and dutch couldnt

even there i wouldnt employ the turks or poles to stupid and lazy
i paid my taxes there spent my money in there shops and bars--do they here
thats what we should do here only give then the jobs where a national cannot fill
that would also get all the doleites benefit scroungers back to work

i don't care if they are hard working , honest- whatever , simple fact is they are taking work from british workers , have a mate who runs a valeting company , he said he is lucky to get a quarter of the work he used to, blames the cheap car washes all over the place,
i won't go to one , why give them your money, enabling them to stay?, lot's of people moan about them, then take their cars /vans to their cheap car washes 

have a relative living in jersey , he has told me that the influx of polish workers has had a drastic effect on work there , he is in the building game,
i was there recently , and got talking to a bus driver from liverpool, he moved there over 20 yrs ago , and because of the polish invasion, is considering moving back,

and before anyone jumps on my back , i am not racist, but we as a country simply cannot withstand mass imigration

its the governments fault and its to late to do anything about it
agencies are to blame  as well particulally in the service cleaning and construction sectors
they are creaming it
why pay a brit 8 quid when a pole will work for min wage
massive margins for them---parasites
the prospective employer has to get over the language barrier etc  when one turns up

You are the biggest hypocrite; I would have thought working in Europe would have educated you and made you understand that after all we live in the 21 century. Obviously not!

As regards to employing foreign workers, do you think that international, multimillion, cleaning and construction companies are so stupid to employ people who are so useless as you describe? I think not, what you will find is that the reason why they actually do employ what you all describe as “foreign workers”  is because they are truly hard working people and make their businesses thrive from the ground up.

Those who you refer to as “foreign workers” actually have the same rights as you and me to be over here and work. We have joined EU to be a European multi international country; however it is obvious to me that the traditional mentality of British people is getting in the way of development of this country and its economy.
At what point do the British workforce think they are above everyone else? The reason why polish and other Eastern European people come over here to work is because there is plenty of work for them. The jobs which British people won’t do! Ask anyone who wants to work as a cleaner, labourer on construction site or as an Au Pair? They all turn their nose up to it, why? Because they think they are better than that, when most of them leave school uneducated and unable to write or speak accurately.

 Overall in my opinion, every employer must choose their workers by their abilities and skills not their colour of skin race, gender or age. We do live in the 21 century after all!

Here here, british jobs for british workers. One of my custys told me this week that one of them was canvassing in the street i clean. Her house i price at £10, he said he is happy to do it for £3.50 - thats the problem there, not the fact they are foreign and what it will do long term - i've seen it in the construction industry and its not nice.
All these do gooders going on about EU this EU that are not helping either by paying them a pittance. Come the revolution.
