Do any of you leave your leisure battery on charge over night? im having a few problems keeping mine fully charged as i only do short runs so the switch relay isnt doing its job enough, currently i just put jump leads on from my heavy duty van battery and this helps, i was going to get myself a charger to leave on over night, does anyone do this and if you do which ones should o go for?

what i did to get round this was go for a 50 mile drive every morning and that solved the problem as the battery is always fully charged


ok i didnt i went to screwfix and bought a charger, cant remember the make but i will take a look tomorrow

I do longer runs sometimes but if I'm doing larger jobs, or a lot of compact work, it can start running down a bit even while using a relay.  So I take it out for a manual charge once per week and if I have some bigger jobs coming up, perhaps more often.  I get by on a 70 amp/hour battery.  Perhaps I should have two at once and alternate them for longer battery life.

We do charge overnight
normally once a week
had split relays but stuff is fairly local so don't charge enough.
We got the smart charger from cleaning spot.

If you're going to get a charger, get a CTEK one, they are by far the best.  Pay a bit more for it no doubt, but well worth the money.

smart charger from halfords,   2 leisure battery,s, one or the other always on charge,

 i rotate them put fresh one in van before work , take the one out from the day before and put on charge,


with a smart charger it can be left on charge for weeks, as it swithches to maintainance mode when battey is charged , and will alternate between charge/maintainance mode.

both my battery's are over 2 years old -still going strong

Same as I do, seems to work well.
I use the Halfords fully automatic charger
