ez snap or rectus
« on: May 14, 2010, 04:41:43 pm »
i have recently changed all my hose fittings from hozelock to ez snap ( no more leaks )  :) but. after only a couple of weeks, connecting and disconnecting the pole hose to reel hose is getting harder to do ( really really tight fit )  >:(.
just thought i would ask on here if the rectus fittings are any better before i splash the cash
cheers

got the ez snap from gardiners and the fittings aint got any writing on them, he has a pro range of fittings, bit more expensive, but they have rectus stamped on the body.
the ez snap were great for a week or 2, but now very hard to shove the male fitting (pole hose) into the female fitting

bloody annoying

ta for the reply though marra

It SHOULD say rectus on them, unless gardiners have a cheap batch and they are rubbish!

Rectus are really good.

I had one of them unbranded ones for about a week and it broke. Rectus last for months.

Phone Gardiners and complain. Their service is normally tops.

Check the end of the male part they aften have damage in the very tip due to been knocked on the ground I file them and round there very edge of the head of it helps the male fitting fit better. Thats on easy fit the metel is to soft. I find the rectus 19 a good fitting large but stronger.

when ever i have ordered ez snap fittings, they have always been rectus 21, the pro range was the larger one with blue plastic collar, seem to have changed descriptions,
very misleading, as i ordered ez fittings , thinking they would be rectus 21 , and they are'nt .

yes you can, thats what I use on minibore hose, you just need a small length of 1/2" hose adapted to the end with a barbed reducer and a couple of jubilee clips.

Same here, used the EZ-SNAP, and were useless after about 3-4 weeks, they wouldn't click together etc..., now use hozelock autostops and not had one leak............when it wears out, pop to homebase, halfords or b&q and buy some more. Have fitted a  tennis ball just before the connection, stops it rubbing on the ground  ;)
If Carlsberg made window cleaners....I'd be one of them....lol
