Good for you Dave, i expect the reporter is a mate to get what amounts to a glorified advert like that. Thought the innuendo was okay along with the cheerfull style, but instead of buying him a pint next time you see him only get him half because use of the word lucrative was an error.

Getting all the facts wrong is okay as i expect he was half cut when you briefed him anyway, but impressive, or blue chip etc, might have been better choices than lucrative.Wouldn't want anyone to think your making any money eh? Least of all the wife.

I like the livery idea, but i also like the simplicity of your van signage, and again being the fastest, the world record holder even is a bit splash and dash.I'm suprised the reporter didn't calculate her hourly rate, i make it about £360 an hour if she could sustain the pace. That's lucrative.

Not a mate at all, It is a human interest story,

You see storys like that the length and breadth af the UK everyday.

I would reccommend every window cleaner contact there local rag if you get an achievment etc.

Every Rag or Mag as an editor, with there email readily available.

I got my safecontractor in about 6 different magazines, 5 newspapers, and about half a dozen web sites.

I have advised many other window cleaners to do the same.

Its easy when you know how, I plan to run another few storys over the coming months, some are absolute nonsence but i will make them sound good.

Watch this space lol

p.s. I am the publicity king, (the Max Clifford of the WC world)

if you got a story, I could help !!

hrrrmph
Well if you wrote a press release and all they had to do was add the house style how come all the facts were wrong?

I do agree with what you say about how keen they are to use snippets, but next time ask for copy approval.

I didnt write that press release, I phoned the editor, he took the story over the phone.

I didnt have time to write it last month, I was far too busy.

If i wrote it, I would of added about us "taking Safety to new Heights" but thats for my next story now, due out soon.

Very good Dave! That bit about covering "the whole of Cornwall" shows the reporter is a master of understatement.

It shoud have read "the whole of Cornwall, the Scilly Isles, the south west of England as far as Bristol - unt tomorrow zer vorld!"  ;D
It's a game of three halves!

Same as anything else, you just have to sit down and commit to it, I hate doing it, takes me about a week of frustration usually.

It was a good story very well written, apart from the lucrative blip, and i'm sure phil will agree if you mention it. He sticks to the point.

Any addition such a safety would have detracted from this.Where are you going to get the human interest in taking safety to new heights?
