Hi
go when people will be in ie. early evenings or weekends.

Look smart and be polite

Smile at them when they open the door it really makes a difference and sets the tone

have a leaflet/ flyer with a before and after picture on point to it and ask if you can leave one then tell them briefly what you do

ask them directly if they would be interested in your service

do every house on a road. you never know what is around the back that is out of site and may need cleaning.

be thick skinned you may go for hours and just get knock backs but you will get work eventually.

I really hate door knocking cos i don't like people banging on my door but found i've had to do it as a new business.

So go and have a go and let us know how you got on.

Off to put some weed killer down for clean in 2wks

just an update
went to apply weedkiller this morning and noticed lots of b/paved drives in terrible nick so went back this evening  and knocked every house on this small exclusive estate.

result was three jobs for september and big ones at that. there were half a dozen really prime candidates that were out so will go back at the weekend and follow up

What about a pitch outside your local DIY store handing out leaflets. Maybe Halfords too......................?

You don't get anything for nothing. Of course you will have to pay something but maybe negotiate it on commission. Then if it proves to be a worthless day, it's cost you nowt!
