Question to you long time carpet cleaners, Is August normaly a good month or do this drop off because of the holidays, Seems to be no consistency to this period. People in north Hampshire all go on holiday

Cheers

It's gone a bit quiet here in East Kent but I'm only in my second year - leaflets and business visits for me tomorrow!

Flat out in Newark!!!!!! ;D

Have been trading 4 years now, only real drop off periods seem to be February and March, but thats good, I can catch up with Machine Maintenance, pat testing etc.

PS. I can't wait for the kids to go back to school.....some are a real pain in the bum when your attempting to clean....why so many questions?!?!?!?

Hi Nick

What area do you cover if you dont mind me asking. I am based around the Surrey Hampshire border in Yateley and it seems that things have been quite steady which has surprised me, thought that with people away it would die this month.

Thank god for the Yell & Thomson though as I seem to be getting 2-3 calls a day now which i was a bit worried about as per previous comments on here.

Cheers

Been away to Canada up till beginining of august for two weeks.
Have slaved my guts out catching up when I got back.

Last year went a bit quiet this time so thought I'd take my holls when every body else does.

Seems you get buisier every year!

Next few weeks, just ticking over.

Landlords ring me up and say "you've been recommended, as I had a cowboy last year to clean my filthy, stained, smelly student house that I let and they didn't make any difference".

I say well I can solve most if not all of the problems but it will cost approx £XYZ, then they say either "I'll call you back" or "I didn't think it was going to be that much" bearing in mind that the cowboy has WASTED their money last year for say £60, I can resurrect the carpets for may be £200ish, "cheaper to get new ones" is one reply but my reply is "why don't you!"

100% of the rented carpets I clean are polypropolene.  Not all are trashed.  I dont prevac as the cleaners are usually there before me.  Turn up the heat and chemical and they come clean very very easily.  You can go cheaper and still make more than normal hourly rate as theres little furniture to move.

Dont be so regimented in your pricing although if your booked with good quality residential then forget the rental stuff.

A local company is giving me a full weeks worth of work in September so its worth is for me.

PS. theres also a great sence of satisfaction to restore a minger to as new condition apart from the wear and fAg burns of course.
