Guys
My father in law has just bought a Stimvac and is running a dry cleaning solution (dripro) through it. It has been purchased to clean curtains while in situ. Anyone had any experience with this machine? is it the best value machine for this sort of thing or do you guys use a normal machine ie a steempro & use a curtain hand tool?

Hi Tim,

I used to be an agent for Stimvak and it is true that the Toto Machine was used for dry cleaning.

What you have to be sure of is that the pump has a viton diaphragm, seals and  valves.

You must also make sure that you are venting the vac exhaust outside via a hose fitted to the motor.

They  are a good simple machine that does the job.

If you are interested I have a spare water Toto for sale ( Machine only.also I think some dry cleaning tools. and various spares.

Extracta Spirit II is an excellent machine for curtains.......if you want to get into that line of work.

Personally I think curtains are more hassle than they are worth!!

The machine is in very good condition with a new vac motor which has done zero hrs.
It will be sold with a new flo-jet 70 psi pump as a spare and various other  spares.
The cost of the above is £150.

We quoted £750 for dry cleaning one pair of curtains and were told it was a bit much.

They are heavy dark blue velvet 9 ft 6" drop, double width and double sided as the public can see both sides. They run on a semi circular track of 9.5 ft radius with a double pelmet at the top in a crematorium. We did one set much smaller and they were a pain!
