ionics bad customer service
« on: May 07, 2010, 01:25:52 pm »
iv always used ionics when needed bits n bobs for my machines etc n a few other suppliers, last week i ordered a blue resin di filter as mine had gone brown n wasnt producing pure water, they sent out a new filter that was faulty that the hoselock couldnt connect too the male section on the filter was too short like it had been cleanly snapped as it was smooth, so i rang them n they said they would send out a new one think this was tuesday still waitin today (friday) for it so i rang them they apologised and said it hadnt been sent for sum reason, so iv not had to cancel my work till monday as i cant clean windows till new filter is delivered, compensation they offered...............free delivery next time i order from them!!!! I find this disgraceful im already behind schedule with my work.just thought id share this with you!!

Thats the reason i chose Brodex for my machines as i telephoned them on 6 occasions last August, never got a reply !

Hence the reason i have had 3 vans fitted with Brodex systems since September.

Im actually in Southport now having a transit fitted out.

Totally agree with you on this one.

Since August for some reason they have gone down in my estimations, BIG TIME !

If they want repeat business then they have to get a grip on their customer service, I've read loads on here about their poor customer service lately.

I am from Newcastle and they rang me a couple of weeks ago at 1pm to say they had a road show here that day until 3pm, I was off as it happens and went down to find a van with a few brushes on display. Glad i only had to drive 3 miles.

Eh ??? ???
I'm not an Ionics fan boy, but surely if you have the colour change resin then you know when it's deteriorating?
Isn't that the idea of it? When the colour starts to go wouldn't it be wise to order a new one? It's not their fault you can't work' it's yours for being so daft you didn't put your order in a month ago.

My battery is getting tired, shall I wait untill i'm in the middle of a commercial job for it to give up or shall I buy one this afternoon ready? If I do the first option I suppose Halfords will compensate me if they haven't got any in stock.

I can see both points, Ionics should of sorted this sooner but I keep back ups of most things, resin, filters, transfer pump, varistream, pump, hose, taps, rectus 21, battery, o rings, etc etc etc

Richy

Can't you just use a standard DI vessel instead of the IONICS colour change one. You can buy a 25ltr bag of tulsion resin for £72 delivered!!

Sorry to hear you are having troubles Rich but I have never had any problems with Ionics whatsoever ordering parts from the online shop or over the phone, I don't know why you are having your problems.  Just out of interest mate how long is your DI colour change resin lasting?  That is the only complaints I have against Ionics is that I don't think their DI resin doesn't last very long.  I have looked into having a DI resin fitted but I would loose a lot of pressure I am told and the canisters on our system are only 30 incs and the system is set up to accommodate that.  I hope you get it sorted out.  Just one more question what was your TDS reading that stopped you cleaning windows?  Regards Steve

iv never really had a problem with them and i know its a mistake on there behalf, iv not taken a reading lately but it is leaving windows spotting, its not the fact they forgot to send it that gave me the hump its the way they said we'll give you free delivery next time you order from us not knowing that what i could now lose out on etc because of there mistake.

il just wait now till monday to see if it comes and catch up best i can got other work to get on with

Have you considered bypassing the resin chamber on the Ionics setup and strapping a largish DI vessel into the van imnstead instead?  You would need a TDS meter to check it from time to time and it is slightly more work doing the occasional refill.  However, the plus side is that you will save yourself a bundle on resin costs and you don't have to rely on Ionics for the part because any WFP supplier will have bags of resin in stock.
