Those that sub contract...
« on: May 06, 2010, 05:36:45 pm »
Im looking into taking some body on, on a fulltime basis but was amazed at all the red tape you need to get through just to get someone on paye...

How do you "employ" someone who is self employed.

Is it like a subcontractor, ie he works say 30 hours per week for £X amount, and i supply a payment slip which he and i sign  to prove what hes earnt ????

if you can find a self employed wc then they can just invoice for work done, just like you would invoice any commercial jobs.

Totally right, and if they say they work for someone else and dont you will get the blame and you are liable for tax, do it right and don't get the headache.

So if i give him a list of addresses and he completes all the list, say 20 different  jobs surely that would be interpreted as having different jobs etc.

no unless he collects the money him self and keeps it,  he gets the work off u and then gets paid off u   (employed)

will he be using your gear/water van petrol  etc if he is he is employed

yes they can  ;D just make sure they buy there own equipment ( just a back pack will do )
& when u get them 2 make ur invoice out, always say they ave done a few days less than they did.
that then gives them spare time 2work else where if they want 2  ;D ;) happy days  ;)
