I think I would tend to have a spare pump and a vac motor in stock myself if you that concerned about time. You still going to have to pay for them even if you drive to Ashbys, but at least you save yourself the trip.

Buy a new vac motor put it straight in the one you take off you know is working so keep that as a spare also the new one is under warranty no down time.

No he doesn't but like Joe I keep spares in. If something breaks I'm usually up and running same day/next day.
