Being plagued by inquiries about doing car upholstery extraction..recently, by a guy that keeps a fleet.
Was wondering what sort of pricing structure you guys use, if anyone does it, of course...Didnt really want to go into this area, but the interest makes me wonder again.
What would be the going rate for doing the seats...and maybe the carpets as a seperate issue?

I know what you mean...was only going to do extractions on the seating, nothing else..too much like hard work otherwise.

I offered this service years ago but soon stopped , dealing with second hand car spivs is not much fun.

However I do clean car upholstery about 5 times a year but quote a least £70 as I want to be able to spend long enough to get a decent job.

Try it , but on your terms.

£70 !!!  is that for all the 5 jobs in total? 

This guy just wants them extracted before selling them on.
I was thinking more of £20....after all, it only takes about half an hour, if that, and he lives across the street.

Could I get away with using carpet pre-spray and an acid rinse, IE: fibre & fabric rinse?
would save on buying additional stuff....I dont do upholstery, as a rule..carpets keep me busy enough, and I dont stock it, as ive never had any upholstery enquiries since being in business. (weird, come to think of it.)

Scott,

Car upholstery can be cleaned using carpet cleaning chemicals.

Most are synthetic fabrics which are tough and clean well.

I suggest you pre spray , work in with a microfibre cloth , extract and towell dry.

Don't go to cheap , you might as well make some money

I charge £30 for seats and carpets for a five door family car, I only book the jobs in when carpet/ upholstery work is slow. keeps me ticking over!

You might find it is just as easy to  clean the rest of the interior as well and charge extra as you will find working in a confined space you can't help getting overspray on the other parts of the interior including windows,I would vac thougherly and dust first ,if cleaning roof lining use a foam lift which you can buy in a spray form as it is excellent for headlinings,then proceed to wet clean,i tend to clean drivers seat first then drivers carpet and so on with the car engine switched on and the heaters going,then clean the rest of the vinyl or leather and windows last. Should take you approx 2 hours so can charge what ever yor normal rate is per hour
