AFTER YEARS OF HARD WINDOW CLEANING.
I recon my knees are shot they have started aching like hell and clicking every time I walk, which tells me its not good (and some say no to wfp, if only i did it 10 years ago)
now have a trapped nerve in my neck and back, and shoulder is making me colapse which is highly annoying.
25l Barrels are not good for your body trust me I know if you use them all the time your boardering on metal.
now I have the annoyence of the shoulder thats still annoying me off my chest for a min.
Any one else had any of these and anyone know how to stop it.
Not even beer touches this pain :

p.s if your thinking of window cleaning, or woul think long and hard as you only get one body.
Ian.
I know some people think of it as mumbo jumbo, but please do yourself a favour and consider using acupuncture or, if you have a needle aversion, acupressure. It's not cheap, it may take a few sessions before noticing benefits, and it may even feel a bit worse temporarily.
I was in big trouble some years ago (long before WFP). Normally the sort of stuff that was happening righted itself after a few days. This time, it just wasn't happening though.
Acupressure worked very well for me. The longer you allow a problem to persist, the longer it can take (usually) for it to come good.
As for the knees, there may be some more immediate relief if you try a simple excercise that a fireman/window cleaner showed me some years ago. Easy to show - not so easy to describe.
KNEES:- Before your body cools down after work (i.e. within a few minutes of stopping) stand facing a wall with your feet a few inches from the wall. Move one foot forward so that the heel is on the ground and the toes are a few inches up the wall so that your toes are pointing upward (don't overdo this). Then, without moving your feet, gently move your hips towards the wall. You will feel muscles tighten on the back of your leg. It's important not to over tighten. Just rock gently forward, hold a few seconds, then gently rock back. Do this a few times. Switch legs and do it for the other leg. This can be of great help to the knees.
OTHER ACHING AREAS:- When the muscles are still warm clench the relevant muscles a few times holding for a few seconds and pausing in between. This should help ease the muscle aches that can develop when they cool down later.
Not sure about trapped nerves. I think that's where the acupressure might help.
Of course I'm no medic and what I've written should be treated with caution in case of an underlying problem. No liability accepted etc etc .................
Feel free to phone me if you want to chat further on this. You know the number.
