Floor Sweepers vs Vacuum Cleaners
« on: August 16, 2005, 12:38:30 pm »
Hi guys and gals,

Was pondering the relative merits of sweepers and vacuums. Anyone have any particular preferences for either one?

This is in relation to cleaning large office spaces, but am also looking for use in smaller offices and retail premises.

I know that vacuums were considered to be much more effective, but has anyone seen any improvements recently in sweepers' ability? Or are vacuums still the way to go?

Ta!

Hi Chris,

A vacuum cleaner with a hepa filter or above is more efficient than a sweeper. In an office environment you need to trap the dust & debris so that it does not swirl back up into the air. Tests have shown that dust will stay in the atmosphere for up to 2 hours before it finally settles back down. Dust contains all manner of bacteria, dust mites & their feces etc. Using a properly filtered vacuum will eventually cut down the amount of dust floating about, this will give your clients a cleaner & healthier office environment and cut down on the amount of cleaning you have to do.

Hope this helps Chris.

Derek.
