What size pole do you think ill need for this  ive got a 40 footer im pretty sure that should be ok, but your thoughts would help......

I do a similar height with a 25 ft SLX.  However, to make certain, maybe go for 30 ft - especially if it's a heavier pole that you mihght need to lift a bit higher than usual.

I would have said 35ft to be safe and to take into account the shrubbery at the front so your 40ft would cover it easy!

even at ten foot per floor it would only be 30ft.

I do G/1/2 with a 5 x 5ft SLX on flats with standard ceiling height.  I have to reach a little on one side where the ground falls away.  That's why I suggested 30ft to make sure because it looks like that building has slightly more than standard ceiling height.  Looks like it might be 12 - 18" higher per floor so perhaps a 5 x 5 won't quite do it.

MODIFIED TO SAY:  Sad git that I am, I just saved the pic and enlarged it.  Although blurred, I attempted to count the courses of bricks.  From ground to top of highest window looks like 33ft 3".  Looks like I should eat humble pie.  Probably could do with a 35 footer.  Pics can be so deceptive sometimes.  Although it's possible to allow for reach and call it 30ft, that is only the vertical distance.  By the time you've stepped back it can easily add a few feet.  I reckon 35ft pole length (not reach) to make sure.

I have told new customers on several occassions that I need to check and make sure my pole will reach before I quote. They have been OK with this and you know what you can reach and what you can't and negotiate a price from there.

40ft should be fine but if they are sash windows you may have to concideer the brush head you are using.

I've done this too.  I've never yet had anyone object to me doing a height test with a pole.  Usually no problem but there are jobs where it's been borderline.  I would far rather know before quoting whether or not I need a new section.

Hey Paul,
as long as you use a gooseneck elbow to reach the btms of the upper floor, I also reckon its 36ft, one section less than an F16.
