It's up to you what you spend your money on but you are making a mistake going for a 50 litre trolley. It will be a nightmare to move around.

I have a number of van mounted systems and have added a 25 litre X-Line trolley to most of them. This gives the best of both worlds. If you started out with a 25litre X-Line it's a dawdle to add a tank andf use the trolley in the van when you want to use it as a van mount. When you have parking problems and hose hazards it's a 1 minute job to pop the trolley off the tank and use it on it's own.

Had I realised this when we first went WFP I 100% would have saved a lot of money and bought systems comprising of tanks powered by trollies. Please listen to the voice of experience and get it right from the start.

Daz, I think you are making a mistake too and will regret it in time. I started with a car, 25l containers and a backpack. It did me ok for a year but then I did a DIY 500l van setup and I honestly cannot remember the last time I used the backpack.

I live quite near to you I think, I am in Altrincham, Cheshire. I would be more then happy to set my backpack up for you, fill a couple of barrels and hit a few houses.

You can use the backpack for a few and then my van system for a few and see what you think. I also have a 30ft SLX and an 18ft xtel. I have a white mono superlight and a black dual trim flocked. You will get a good feel for all the equipment and make an informed decision.

Daz, I too deliberated for ages before choosing a trolley to back up my van mount and have a second operator working at the rear of a massive amount of 2 storey townhouses that i clean as well as a multitude of other work i had in mind for the trolley. Went for the PF 50L. Travelled down from Scotland to see it in the flesh and choose between it and the 25L. Well worth the visit, very helpful friendly people Great piece of kit.

Weight is fine and easy to manouvre

If you want any more info or advice drop me an e-mail at granitecitywindowcleaners@hotmail.com and will get in touch by phone

I got two PF 25lt trolleys. Great kit I,ve seen the 50lt its easy to move and weighs little more than the 25lt trolley. I also have PF van systems and I started with the trolleys and then got van systems but still use the trolleys. Remember they are quality kit using the same kit on them as the van systems and they can draw from a tank in the future if you want. I cant recomend them more, oh and nice people to deal with!

wow guys!i didnt think this thread would get this response!i will change the choice of pole methinks as u lot have experience with these f/g extel poles.what about a brodex 18ft hydra?im not sure what the closed length is for bottom windows though! ::)

the small resin vessel is for if i need a top up while at work.ill fill up at night DI ONLY with the 16litre vessel.hose downstairs,DI,then into containers ready for the morning.

im sure the trolley will be fine!im planning on just wfpoling the tops on first cleans and have trad gear with spray bottle(no bucket to carry!) on belt for tradding bottoms.

how hard can it be?i wont have ladders and bucket to carry round.ill just push the trolley round the 2 big estates of compact work ive got.the 50L version even has a pole carrier on it!

its like a modern version of the window cleaning cart!if im doin tops only on a lot of my work then ill only have to nip to the van every hour or so for a refill! ;D ;D

i really like the idea of the trolley! ;D ;D
price higher/work harder!

Do not waste your money on a trolley as other posts have said.  Slow cumbersome awkward, are some of the words that come to mind. I should know as i used to have a 25 litre pure freedom trolly about 3 years ago.

Better off putting your money into the biggest tank you can afford and preferably bolt down hose reel (i'm assuming you have a van)  Forget estate cars as they have low payloads and can't take the weight safely.

For poles the hybrid HXTEL poles are a good all rounder ( although usually the top section will need replacing within about 12 months due to the most wear. Retro fit a flow control valve to each pole too, so you can stop/start your water quickly and easily.

You want to give Varitech systems in Newton Abbot a call on 01626 830830.  They will give you better pricing than Adepta Engineering (Pure Freedom)  as they are suppliers to them.

LOL.
Seems that way.
I've done trolley, backpack and van mount in the last 5 years.  As others have said, I would not be without my van mount.  I had to rough it for a while when my van was off the road.  I used containers, a trolley, and a backpack.  It worked of course but it was a right pain as I had got used to van mount by then.  I found van mount to be quicker, safer (less manual handling issues), and generally more convenient.  Trolley and backpack are good tools though for when there may be trip hazard problems with the hose.  I no longer use my old trolley.  Just van mount and occasional backpack these days.

Daz.  When you wake up this morning and go to your sock drawer, I hope you only have one pair of socks in there.  Otherwise you could be sitting on the bed for a few hours wondering whether to wear the blue ones, the red ones , or the black ones   ;D

Daz do you have any 3 storey work ? if you done but want to I think you will struggle with a 20ft pole, if money streaches I would get a 17ft xtel and a 30ft this should then cover your work, if you can afford a 30ft slx instead on the xtel I would defo recommend that.

Brodex pole are also good, but none beat an slx  ;)

my rounds all domestic and i use a backpack easy access
to any property, prefered it to my freedom trolley which ended up
using as a van mount 400 ltr upright tank and hundred meters
of microbore hated the constant snagging i am far quicker now.

if you have mixture of commercial and domestic i would
get a van mount and backpack if i was you trollies really
are a pain hauling around and i would imagine on stand
alone large commercial jobs a van mount would be quicker

pulled up yesterday to clean a house... i have a van mount...

whipped my pole out from the holders on the ceiling inside the van, pulled my hose from the static , bolted reel in the van and off i went washing away,

At the same time another guy i know pulled up with his van, .. humped his trolley out then started filling it from 25l container.... by now i had done the front...

went  and did the back of the house and came back ..finished ! reeled in my hose shut the doors.

he was still on the front upstairs next door.... as i drove off i thought to myself, poor bugger... he will have had to then hump his trolley back into the van and mess about filling it up for next cleans etc....

been there , done that with a back pack and 25l containers.

when i got the van mount my life suddenly became so much easier,

My experience of both !

thats just it gazza i rarely just do stand alone jobs!i have a lot of very compact work with lots of cars, pots, plants, and lots of other stuff in the way.i could use the trolley as a van mount anyway for some stand alones.others i have to park quite away from their electric gates making reeling hose in and out a pain!right across footpaths, roads etc.

itll take 2 mins to take trolley out and pop 2 barrels on and away i go! ;D ;D

i could always get a tank at a later date and hook trolley up and hey presto A VAN MOUNT! ;D ;D
