Communal Cleaning
« on: June 14, 2008, 10:42:40 pm »
Hi Guys

I am fortunate enough to be tendering for a 37block, 3 floors per block contract(Communal Cleaning) as my very first tender.

Whilst the cleaning side of the tender is complete i am struggling with the minor maintenance side of the tender.

I have been asked to supply an "on call" service, Replacement light bulbs/tubes and stair nosing replacement service. As these will be an "as and when" service how do i add it to the final price?

Any advice will be gratefully accepted as it's starting to give me sleepless nights!!

Also, in addition to the tender contract, what documentation would you suggest sending? The client has sent an a5 envelope which must be used and it doesn't look like i can send a lot.

Thanks in advance

Andrew P

Hi Andrew

I probably wouldn't state a price for each maintenance job but put an hourly rate plus materials and if necessary an emergency call out charge (alot of the jobs will be routine maintenance so won't incurr the call out).

In your tender add

Opening letter
company info - usually about three pages long giving brief detailes about yourselves eg: registared address, solicitors, insurers etc then in brief your rules on training, h&S, coshh, risk assessmemts, security, tupe, timekeeping etc.
H&S policy
Brief COSHH rules
Accident procedure
References
Schedule of works
Quotation
Terms & Conditions

Of course other relevant things can be added depending on the clients requirement but this is usually the basics.

Hope this helps
