Yes that is right, they are a lot less whippy with the right overlap. It's also why some companies were stating different lenghts for a pole saying it was longer than it actually should be.

It's a good idea for anyone who has recently got an X-tel to unscrew the clamp and check the overlap lenght on the first couple of sections, there is a strip of nylon tape stopping the section coming out, it should be 250mm. If it's not unwind it and move it up, job done.

I checked mine and its the 100mm overlap one.
Unwound the nylon tape but it's lost all its stickiness to wrap back on securely.
Tried DIY stores etc but nothing looks close, any ideas where I can get some of this or what does anyone else use?
