Derek, I understand your point and accordingly the N.C.C.A. should be as difficult to get into. If it was I think it would have more credit.
I would also like to see different "subjects" to be qualified in similar to how the I.I.C.R.C. do things.
It is way too easy to become a member, I became a member not even having been to a course of any sort to do with the N.C.C.A.
For my own reasons I am not involved with the N.C.C.A. anymore but thats realy a side note.
A client can get an N.C.C.A. member to clean we will say a carpet. Lets hope at least the member will be able to do so. Then under the same hat they could be asked to clean an area rug or a colour repair or an odour removal or an odour introduction etcetera not having a clue how to do any of the aforementioned. Yet the claim is by being in the N.C.C.A. you get a......... well you know the rest.
Again with this in mind will the N.C.C.A. ever qualify people in the different fields?
Anyway, best for now.........having said that, you made the comment that it would be a doddle to get into the N.C.C.A, which it is............ Why not make it difficult so that those who pass the test actually know their stuff. I.E. a 90% pass or similar. I am not saying that those who are members dont know their stuff as I am sure most do.
My specialty if thats what you want to call it is cleaning area rugs.
I have cleaned behind or instead of N.C.C.A. members who had no idea what they were doing but still "hid" under being an N.C.C.A. member to aquire the work. While I understand their position to get work anyway they can, wouldnt it be better to be a qualified N.C.C.A. Oriental and area rug cleaner. It would certainly look more professional and not be such a con to the public........
Best, Dave.
