i went through confused.com. i cant remember who i'm with now! I haven't got the details, im not on my computer.
I am insured for window cleaning (below 10 foot), and fitting PVC gutters and fascia.
I dont actually fit PVC, but thegirl i spoke to put told me to put this down, as it also covers cleaning PVC gutter and fascia.
Try it though confused. The one i found was about £50 cheaper than everywhere else

Mine cost £157.50 and covers me and 1 temporary employee for £2 million PL.

Also covers tools & equipment up to £1500.

Has a £250 excess and covers to 4th floor work only.

Sarah.

I bought the policy from Business Insurance Direct. I found them on google.

It is underwritten by Groupama Insurances under their Optimer Trade & Professional Policies.

I was quoted £162.75 but got a discount for paying online.

As for the temporary worker, I told them I have a mate who is self employed as a builder who will help me on an "as and when" basis but that I wanted them to be covered when they where working with me. It has no Employers Liability cover. The policy itself actually states "temporary employees covered automatically" but does not state any time scale.

Hope that helps.

DJ

You do not have to have Public Liability insurance, you do need employers insurance if you employ someone.
