They must know I'm going to put the price up!
« on: September 08, 2017, 05:24:43 pm »
I been putting my prices up recently and usually explain to the customer face to face that the price is going up next clean. However I've been caught out a couple of times:

  • On two occasions just as I'm about to bring the subject up of price rises they give me a decent tip (after never having tipped before).
  • On another occasion they explain it's their daughter's wedding immediately after the next clean date & that it'll be nice to have the windows clean for the wedding.

It doesn't feel right to talk about price increases in these situations.  I'll have to bring it up next clean...

Does this happen to anyone else? Or is it just me?

It happens to everyone, apart from doubting yourself about discussing price increases.

don't be soft! - prices have to go up,

i've got past all the explaining etc....

standard letter attached to the clean card with the new price - job done

I've yet to shop in Tesco and have the manager pop over to me explaining that the milk has gone up 5p

Never argue with an idiot, they will only bring you down to their level, and beat you with experience

Yes I know what you mean. My price will definitely be going up after next clean.
