When did this thread become a size comparison?

Franchises are a completely different business as are commercial companies.

I only compare us to other residential privately owned companies. Also size isn't how many vans you have, I could have 20 vans if they all did half the work. The only measure of size is money

because most people on here think if you have more van out everyday you are making more money which isn't true at all , we had just 6 vans working at dhl years ago but we w ere making more then a fellow guy that had 15 out everyday it all about what left in your pocket at the end of the week when every thing is payed for

I myself would like to take a look at the day too day running of it all as having 3 vans out daily is hard work , we seem to build up to getting the 4th one just about there , then boom we bin aload of rubbish off and back to having three vans flat out and always running behind grrrrr

well then you need to increase your marketting effort, its not rocket science...you want more work then invest more money into aquiring it.

sorry.  8)

You also need to widen your geographical area considerably. But essentially it's obviously not rocket science.

It's more than that though. I've only got two guys and they are both hard working and in almost every way excellent, but most days one or both of them will annoy me slightly. Imagine 12 of 'em. The man management required for 12 people interacting with customers day in day out would require a pretty tough personality and thick skin.

The essentials are pretty basic, but a successful implementation is another thing.

Lee demonstrates on here a personality that it strikes me might be either really good (doesn't seem bothered what people think) but also really bad (lacks communication skills and gets irritated). He'll be turning over such numbers of customers that peeing off a few is neither here nor there, but he needs to make sure he controls it around staff or he'll lose them. Just my thoughts.
