I haven't Stephen, so am in no position to compare.

I've been using Gardiner SLX 30's for around 5 years. Never needed to replace a thing on them and they get a lot of use.

The only thing I've done on one pole is applied some 2 part epoxy resin where the sections were spinning. I now keep that pole as a spare in case another breaks.

To climb mount fuji you must first find a path

I like Phoenix poles. Had 2  twenty two footers for years now. No problems.

We have 3 of the 22ft Phoenix Pro poles, one with an ultralight top section. All of them are original Mk 1, 1 of them could be 3 years old?  All in daily use, only issue we have had with them is 3 clamps have worked loose.  Easily glued back on.  Personally think that is due to fitting aqua taps.  Not tried Gardiners yet,  we had Ionics before.
