Used Hozelock type fittings for 10 years, no leaks & no issues. I honestly don't know why you guys fanny about with all these fancy fittings? ???

Hozelock ??
On microbore and pole hose?
 ???

Yep, & to add- I've never had to protectakote a van either, why? because my whole system is dry! :)

Simple really innit.

It's cos you use a different name on here to what your real name is. Obvious innit. You keep getting sent Carl2009's stuff, jeezoos!

If you used your real name on CIU it would never have happened.  8)

+1.
£1 from B&Q. Get through about 4or5 a year.

How do you you reduce to 8mm hose and pole hose?

I don't. I use 12mm hose.
Can be done with reducers though.
Try a hydraulic place

It would be good to see your fittings setup - how you connect to microbore and pole hose, tap etc. Could you post pics?

And what about a flow control tap?

Just fit one where you like, flow control tap has nothing to do with the fittings. I don't use one, I use an electronic controller & so each time time I disconnect the pole hose the pump shuts off (water stop fitting on end of minibore- like the one in the link)

Well pleased.

i have those same qr fittings on my van ports to connect my hose reels and they seem pretty bulletproof, i even reversed in a bollard and bent the under bumper plate and the fittings are un damaged despite taking the full force of the impact .

its obviously a faulty one and I'm sure alex will send a new one very quickly.

Well mistakes happen in every job. And sometimes more than once to the same person. It's how they deal with it that counts, and their attitude. I think Gardiners, whilst not perfect, are the leaders for customer service compared to and of the other wfp suppliers I have used.

I've ordered plenty with Gardiners and they've always been spot on.  Generally good reviews on the products they manufacture themselves, quick delivery and excellent

customer service.  It could be that whoever packed the delivery up dropped the connector or something..........? Who knows? Simply bad luck and human error?  Don't

sweat the small stuff, at least the boss man is on it.....from now on your'll be getting VIP treatment!

Quite agree - their customer service is great and their products are groundbreaking. Alex is a great bloke trying to do his best and I know mistakes will always happen. It's just the packing area that needs improvement IMHO. If it was only a couple of times then fair enough, but it's been a regular thing for me. (Nearly) all sorted now though.

Just an update on the "new" Gardiners quick release hose fittings I fitted in place of the Rectus 21...

The upshot is it was a great move. I've been using them for 2 months and have had not one drop of a leak. They've not got jammed either. They are basically metal Hozelocks and I have them sandwiched between protectaballs. They are a bit heavy as I think Alex mentioned when I was moaning about one falling to pieces before I'd used it. If these had been Rectus 21s or equivalents they'd have been broken by now.

Cheers

Carl
