Got a good day in today

Insulated van tank - check!
Oil filled rad - check!
Immersion heater - check!

Yard broom - check!
Salt - check!

Thermal underwear - check!
Hat with ear muffs - check!
Sunglasses - check!

Toasty - supple hoses - full days work in sub zero temperatures - Yay!
It's a game of three halves!

I use a small electric fan heater on a thermostat control, set to low, aimed at both my pumps.  It works.

But it didn't stop my pencil jets from freezing, or my pole from freezing up.

I'm going to get a 3kw heater cut into my tank; I should've done this ages ago - does this help with the pencil jets and hose freezing up?

I find an oil filled rad works just fine. Or a convector heater. Better than a fan IMO.

Just keep your hoses off the metal floor if it isn't ply.

Also I got some sheets of 25mm polystyrene from Wickes and no more nailsed it to the roof of my Vivaro and rockwooled behind ply panels and back door panels. Holds the heat much better. I've also put polystyrene under pump box and connecting hose where it touches the metal van floor even though the hose is already insulated.

For last 2 winters beeen using a oil filled rad in a ciroen berlingo. Its cable tied to the strap on the tank.

I use a digital timer from 3am to 4.30am then 5.15am to 6.15am and it does the job.

Mind I also polystyrened the roof and the sides of the van and a blanket chucked over the reel.

Champion man. You havent wasted your money. ;)
