iPhone for me, have a Samsung tough phone as well, waterproof and shock proof, but texting is a  pain on it , like going back 10 yrs.

what htc like for emails??

Fine. Fine for most things except actually talking to people on the phone due to the lousy quality hardware. My HD2 improved when I ditched Windows Mobile for Android but is still pretty poor in comparison to all the other phones I've had. Can't fault it as a device though.

Right in thinking as a phone its crap?

Pretty much yes. I sent it back on day 1 as the audio call quality was dreadful - very loud and very distorted and the speaker phone was unusable at anything above 20% volume. If you turned them down they were simply quieter and very distorted. I ended up having six of them in the first year, an argument with the supplier, T-Mobile not being prepared to help because I didn't buy it directly off them, and HTC who refused to admit there was a problem with the design but a fix would be available soon they just didn't know when. Eventually got fed up and replace the Windows 6.5 with Android 2.2 and I must say it's better but still not very good. I have an LG A133 that I bought on ebay for £16 = miles better. HTC Android is great to use, does emails well, net browsing good, syncs really well with my work programs and Outlook calendar / gmail sync is great too. Just a pity about the phone, which I seem to be alone in thinking is the whole point.

Iphone for me. I dropped an iphone 4 in water the other day. Put it on the radiator in a bowl of rice as they tell you to then charged it after 24 hours and it fired up first time. Its in the repair shop atm getting a new screen so I'm back to the Iphone 3GS. I think the ihpones are great. Calling, texting, emailing and internet are easy to use. Oh and a bloke I know tells me you can check your van tracker software from the iphone?
