yep you are right luther1
took me a while lol

extra weight i can carry is 1168 kg

the total van must not weight more than 3000kg

I bow down to your Superior  knowledge  ;D

Chuck the vikans out - that'll save a hundredweight!  ;D

Seriously though, these weight limits can be misleading - Citroens for example give a payload of something like 1200kg but they forget to mention that you need to allow for a full tank of fuel, a driver and passenger/s. My Toyota I believe, allows for a full tank of fuel before anything else is added.

Andy, I would think with two passengers and a full fuel load you would be very close to the limit.

Tank with water and boarding - about 700kg?
Two reels full of water                          40kg
Extra battery                                      10kg
Ladders                                                5kg
Vac                                                     30kg
poles                                                   10kg
full tank of fuel                                      70kg
Genny                                                  85kg
Bits and bobs                                        15kg

Thats about 965 kg before anyone climbs aboard

Just had delivery of  a new trafic 2900 swb on contract hire, was considering the transporter but couldnt justify the extra money especially as  the new t5's are not that reliable anyway although they do take 1300kg+

payload

if you are unlucky to be pulled on to a weigh bridge by vosa, your total weight must not exced your gross weight.

you could have just 5lts of feul in the tank and carry extra weight in the back, just dont whatever go over gross weight,

£15500 for a second hand van? Sounds a lot of money. Does that include part exchange too? What are they new with payments?

Start at the beginning; think it through and don't go off half-cocked. What do you need for everything in your life. Don't rule out an estate car?
It's a game of three halves!

i used a hatch back car at first and the humbler your vehicle looks the BETTER if you want fresh houses, as my FIAT car raked in no end of work.i had handmade signs stuck in the side windows and folk used to run across the street to chat to me.

i now use a pug partner van (trad) and its  way better for the job ,but no where near as good at raking in new work as an oldish but shiney car
