Apart from our commercial clients, who range from daily to 8 weely cleans, probably 99% of our domestic work is 4 weekly.

Why anyone would want to move their customers from 4 weekly to 6 weekly totally baffles me as you then need more work to fill in the gaps ??? ??? ???.

When I had too much work for myself I employed someone, simple; but I certainly didn't move customers to 6 weekly - total madness :-\ :-\ :-\

I understand what you are saying, if you change the frequency from tw to m you effectively half your income, and that does not make sense.

However it does not take more work, all it needs is more customers and if you are geared up with the right software it makes no difference. I often move people around, the may begin high or low frequency but after a while we work out what frequency is best and stick to that. Obviously the prices change accordingly. Havin the software helps, being able and willing to tinker with the frequency is a key skill,  it helps to secure a wider market.

It halves your income in the short term if you want to look at it that way but on the other hand it gets you a customer you otherwise may not have got. Also they tend to stay with you because they are happy with the arrangement and they don't feel as though they are continually shelling out.

You will also get referrals and the neighbours on board over time.

How much says the customer ? "£10 says me and we call every 4 weeks"  ( learned from this very forum)

Turn up do the 1st clean then after they've paid me reinforce the 4 weeks by saying  "Thanks .... see you next month"

Never had a problem.

i currently offer 4 - 8 week cleans,  but will be moving to 6 weeks only  if they dont want that they can get a other wc

But are you not cutting your own throat by just offering six weekly only and not give what the client may want.
And by doing that you might be losing some good accounts.

So if a commercial wanted there windows cleaned every 12 weeks are you saying you will not clean them and would you say to them "six weekly only and if you don't like it,go and find another window cleaner"??
I don't think you would do that would you??

NJ, We only do 6 weekly on domestic work. I find it good. The windows are dirty enough and the custies don't get the impression that you are there every 10 minutes, if you know what I mean. The downside to that is, you need more custies than a 4 weekly round. More custies spread over a longer time is secure. If you lose 1 or 2, then you have time to replace them without it effecting your income.

Do you see what I mean?
