It looks a good deal to me, if he doesn't get you work you are not out of pocket, and as far as lack if experience goes half the window cleaners on here can't use a squeegie ??? and still make money. You will not canvass yourself so your only choice is to buy work at a higher rate, risk a canvasser or leaflets,

I dont know if you have spoken on the phone, to assess how this chap comes across, but it might be worth meeting - I dont think we can make a decision without meeting, like you would do in any job process.  Not having experience at certain things, dosent always make you not suitable.  Some people are very good sales people, and its a natural attribute.  Think we should look at all opportunities when presented to us.

Not saying you havent had a chat, because I dont know.  But myself, sometimes email really isnt adequate for sussing and assessing peoples persona.  I get to a point with jobs, where I stop the email, and just pick the phone up.

Dont know what the market is like for experienced canvassers?  If their thin on the ground think its best to keep all options open

Good luck Doc, hope you sort something out.

lol get off your high horse.

youve got a bit of cheek saying what you just said with regards to the email .... you were the one who ignored my email then posted on here that you want an experianced canvesser to work in the area  , and i had to email you  to which the repy was (and i quote) "sorry m8 been a bit busy!"

it was the 3rd message where i left you my number and asked for you to drop me a text so i could ring you and discuss a meeting...

no text no phonecall nothing , just a thread on here asking for window cleaners...

There wasnt any concearns about reciepts etc... all of which could have easily been avoided if you just picked up the phone and gave me a phonecall ...afterall it was YOU that id be canvessing for...

Now youve just said you WOULD pay X2 the clean ...

"Not sure m8.I need reciepts and I wouldnt pay 2x a clean from experienced canvassers.
I really do need reciepts for tax reasons.
Thought you was experienced to start with as you advertised on the forum.
Cheers "

Ive not had one message with regards to tax reciepts etc youve said it all on here.

Spoke to people ... Sorry TonyD business associate how does that work out ? he asked me how it was going (as a general question friends ask eachother) and i said he doesnt want me ......

Just for the record , stop thinking Grimsby/Cleethorpes is a mint place to live !!

Dont try and make a mockery out of me Son , end of the day at 17 ive got my own business and have other plans to expand my business....

Wouldnt be too suprised if you get one of my flyers through the door ...  :P

Im going to try and put some perspective on this.

I understand what Richard is saying.   As sales people do you think we do something for nothing, please have some respect.  Im trying to help two perspective clients source data.  I do that because I want to help - because its part of my service, Its my job and has been for 20 years,, and I want to ensure that they stay with me, I want to make their lives as simple as possible, they get on with what they do best, and I get on with what I know best.

Your not going to get somebody "just canvass" unless you put the time and effort into knowing that person.  Its just not as simple as that.

Were not robots, I have to know and speak to the people that I work with, I need to know what they want to achieve, what areas, what work

Canvassers arent robots, they need to know who they are working for, and what you expect from them

You meet, discuss, and find out.  Like you would do with any other job

Its really not about employing somebody to canvass you.  Go and meet them, talk to them, see how they are.  personality wise.  Trouble is here you want a tried and tested method.  Take people on their own abilities to do something.

Going to say I would employ Richard, hes got spirit, hes 17, and willing to give it a go, good on you Richard

Please remember if your engaging canvassers or telesales people "too busy" dosent work

If you want a dedicated campaign you have to commit, days, hours, etc.

You just have to meet them, outsourcing is very tricky , ask for results, ask to see who they have worked for.

Ask what the contract is, it goes on foreever

I have emailed.I've been busy all week with work and family.
If he'd of answered no problem with receipts I would have tried to meet him ASAP.
Maybe a communication error.
Email sent.
Thanx Kate

yep can be a communication error, but in my industry I need to know your diary.

I dont go with Im too busy

Need commitment

Need days

Need times

"im too busy, dosetnt get a chance" dosent help the likes of us

If you going to do a campaign you need to be committed

I feel blasted after doing 120/150 calls a day, and the person says "ok yea will try and make it"

Put all that time in for that response, all I am saying is just be aware of how hard telesales people work

Its a hard bloody job calling people, its not easy to get an appointment is not easy

As an industry were expected to achieve miracles - we cant - we can only try

Its Friday lol
