There are folks that insist 200 degrees+ is the only way to clean, others who use M-Power or Nemisis or micro-splitters/detergent free who rinse with cold water and insist it is the way to go. I had a bit of time recently so tried M/S & Nemisis and powerburst on a really dirty greasy pub carpet, My machine has drop in pipes so it was easy to switch between cold and hot water, by the way hot as in 50 degrees or tap hot if you will. Neither M/S or Nemisis touched it rinsing with either hot or cold. Powerburst rinsed with acidic rinse at 50 degrees

Powerburst did out perform others even with a cold rinse but it was no where near as good. Agitation used in each test 250 psi. Am I right to consider my test as definative. NO. I can't get the results others claim but I don't discount their experiences, different strokes for different folks. Try it both ways and make your own judgement. I still use M/S and Chemspecs DFC on certain domestics that don't require higher Ph cleaners, normally wool or blends with moderate soiling and with good results, DFC i've found has the edge. Pre Spray Gold still does the business too. After years in this business i'm still trying new techniques and solutions but I find it's best to try it yourself, that's what makes it interesting
