mike your right, you cant stretch a wet carpet.

i walked away, ive restretched it since and its fine now.

the carpet cleaners didnt want to know.

to show them what a crappy job theyd paid for...
i spotted a small area with a warmed spray bottle of ultrapac and left it to dwell for 10 while i stretched the carpet...rinse/extract with my bravo, and damn it came up clean.. they wanted me to do the rest of that area.i told them the carpet cleaners should come back and do it for free..however i ended up replacing that piece of carpet with a new piece seamed into the existing piece...SIMPLZ  as everybody says these days...(not colin!)

so im guessing it was a very cheapo job...

Yes sometimes with the Asian community.
Some aren't bothered about the price but
then tend to hassle you for extra work for
free or just an extra fiver.
If I think there just shopping I bang the price up
a bit then if I do get it bingo.

John

I quickly learnt to really over inflate the price quite drastically and they barter you down to a price "You're" happy with! I quoted £180 for this one job and the guy (an Indian) bartered me down to £150.... I'd have been happy with £130  ::)

There once was two Indian restaurant owners and one says to the other. I'm telling you Manjit beat them down 10-20% these bloody carpet cleaners they all overcharge and I can't understand half they say anyway.  ;D

Foreigners tend to think our food is bland ??? Can't beat a roast lamb Sunday dinner!

I must say though, I could live on Indian food!!!!

When you think thirty years ago the nearest thing you got to exotic was a Vesta boil in a bag LOL

You now have Italian, Chinese, Mexican, Indian, Thai over here and they even let us eat their food.  ;)

A lot of the Asians round here tend to go for Italian if
they fancy a change.

Would you Adam & Eve it....? All this talk about food made me go out for an Indian takeaway and as soon as I walked in (Not my usual takeaway I hasten to add!) the owner said he needs his carpets cleaned.... Bingo.... I quoted him a price and he said it'll have to be after Christmas.... I asked him how many times he'd had it cleaned and he said never, it's only been down 11 months ???

I told him we moved into a brand new house 11 months ago and I'd already cleaned the down stair carpets 2 times ::)

They always seem to let their carpets get bogging down here, in fact in any restaurant, Chinese or Indian, they always have minging carpets...... And they're always a proper barsteward to clean!!!!!
