Are you going to glass, frames and sills? And is it a regular thing?

If so, its got to be ladders or wfp unless for some reason you can`t use either.

Tell us a bit more about your plans.

Ps. my girlfriend thinks I`m sad and boring with a little pr :-Xck

my planes are to do what "wagga" does with his trad pole plus also do frames and sills

P.s ive just caught my girlfriend loosening the rungs on my ladder hehehe

Could be tricky that. Especially first cleans.

 Good luck with it though.

Got a flipper but rarely use it. Got the orbital squeegee and use it occassionally. The flipper is the orbital with a bit of a pad attached, not very well either. And when I say pad, its more like one of Sooty`s limbs  ::).

Having said that, a lot swear by them and I can see their usefulness on frequent cleans and pole work.

But for most of my work the pad just isn`t up to it and I`m not mauling about making a new one  :P.   Shouldn`t have to for the money.

I use a Harris pole with Wagtail on for windows over conservatory, then take the Wagtail off and detail with a m/f cloth held on with elastic bands that I keep round the end of the pole so they're handy.  The change the cloth to wipe the sill.
BUT, I'd never do other windows with a trad pole, you just can't detail properly and you're not close enough to see the job.
For me it's trad/ladders or switch to wfp.

so let me get this straight... with a trad pole your not close enought to see the job but with a w.f.p you are?

Yes, wfp is a completely different cleaning method.  With trad methods it's better to be close to the window to check for water marks, scrim or m/f marks and streaks.  With wfp it doesn't matter if you're 1 foot away or 100 feet away, you're still doing the same thing and being closer wouldn't change anything with that method.

i use the 18 inch flipper as my main squeegee ,and the 12 &14 inch ride in my bucket to be used on smaller windows. the 18 at first made my arm ache ,as i made the mistake of fitting a heavier pad-eventually i found a light one (a balcony floor pad, in LIDLs ).

iv a 5 section fishing pole that i use at 9 metres, with the 14 incher , the 18 is too heavy and not easy to flip at that height.  i never try to wipe the sill at that height but i do wipe the frame and the top rail. i use the wagtail angle arm ,and if the sill is very deep set i use 2 angle arms back-to-back .
when iv spare time im going to rig up a detailer as Wagga has done as its a drag bringing down the pole to then put scrim on it .

Waggas added a bentup bit of metal on the back of his wagtail ,the bit of cloth fixes to it .  this saves droppping the pole to the ground to put on a srim/ im definitely going to add this metal bit to mine too maybe i will use plastic ,case i break a window!
