Faux is fake suede, it's easy to tell as it's a woven fabric and cleans in a similar way to most other fabrics. I've been cleaning two of these regularly, for about 5 years and for the past two have been using crystallising foam with excellent results.

Faux suede is the best, no matter how dirty it looks, it will come up really well, no need to overwet it as a little goes a long way on this material, i think you could use anything to clean it but it doesn't need anything powerful even though it might look bad, i reckon it might clean just with hot water!!!!!

In answer to Dereks question, the best way to tell that it is faux suede would be to:

a) smell it, you know the smell of leather (suede being the reverse side)
b) unzip a cushion and look inside, as previous posts have stated the inner side of the fabric will be woven.
c) Look out for a label, the Company that makes a high percentage of these suites are made by Contour.

Hope this helps Derek
