While surfing the web tonight i cam across this, It is from a franchise company trying to push there dry cleaning system.
If only they could sell there system on its own strenghts (if it has any??) opposed to making false claims about other systems.
Here is what they said:
Today, most carpet cleaning specialists work more or less the same way. They use a method called HOT WATER EXTRACTION, otherwise known as STEAM CLEANING. The results are often highly unsatisfactory and the process very inconvenient. At the end of the process carpets are often wet, and stay wet sometimes for days, and at the least for several hours. Floor boards and underlay can get very damp creating a wonderful environment for bacteria, mould, fungi and dust mites.
After the carpet dries, stains often reappear, occasionally worse than before. One reason for this is the so-called ‘wicking effect’ - dirt that has settled at the base of the carpet is brought back up to the top of the fibres as the carpet dries. Furthermore carpets often become dirty again, extremely quickly. Known as resoiling, this occurs because sticky chemicals and detergents are often left behind in the carpet after the cleaning process has finished.
And probably worst of all, regularly ‘wet’ cleaning carpets is known to reduce their life span by between 33% and 50%.
What complete B#ll#cks!
