Charges
« on: January 09, 2008, 07:53:40 pm »
I was reading the archives and found a post regarding how much to charge for certain types of properties.

The post was from 2004 and most of the pictures are no longer showing (only showing a red x).
http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/forum/0864087701.html

I have searched on this forum for a similar post without any luck.
Can anyone give me a link to a similar, more recent post with pricing for certain types of properties?

Brian
It would help if you told us what area you are in, then maybe someone  in your area could help with pricing up Jobs, the prices vary up and down the country, a lot of pricing is around £1 per window but as I say it differs around the country.

Thanks for the reply Jeff, I am in Devon so it would be helpful to have prices on,

Terrace houses
Semi detached house
Detached house
semi bungalow
detached bungalow

All without conservatories.

The old archived post I linked to was probably good when it was posted back in 2004 and all the pictures still worked.

brian , its trial and error ,when you start off it,s likely you will under charge. but hopefully when you start cleaning the properties ,you,ll think erm should have charged more for this...and learn from it......next stage is to stick to your guns price a job up to what you think its worth and dont go any lower!

I used to live in Lancaster, now there are £3 a house window cleaners and £10+ a house window cleaners, you choose what you want to charge, it is the same in cambridge where I work.
there is a very slight difference but not by far.

You try getting a £1 a window in scotland then ::) if you start a business on trial and error then the only error you'll get, is to many under priced houses.

Brian you're not too many miles from me (Somerset) so you will get the pound a window, I have a minimum charge of £10 per house, if a house has 8 windows I still charge £10.

Are you Trad or wfp?

Thanks for the help jeff, richardson and windowwashers.

Jeff I am traditional.
Just moved to this area so I will use the £1 a windown guide, minimun charge £10.

I think these prices seem reasonable

Terrace houses £10
Semi detached house £12
Detached house £15
semi bungalow £12
detached bungalow £15

Conservatories (not including roof) £10

if you are doing doorkncoking and they say they have a window cleaner as much he charges this will also give you an indication to the pricing in the area, but this has to be done many times to get the real amount others charge.

if they ask what you would charge say something that is high they then normally give you the answer.

Any cleaners in my area that read this I dont undercut to get work never have and never will if you know me you will already no ;)
