Hi Jeff
I asked you about getting water marks off Jeff. Like a limsescale stain down a window. I scrubbed, tried bleach and brick acid but each time it came back.
Would one of these white scourers help?
I just noticed on the letter post that you are getting an IBC tank today (why are they called that).
I got one about a week ago and have sited it in the back garden so that it is hidden by the shed. Cleantech put a transfer pump in, thirty metres of thick hose and a tap on the end of this. I suppose your tank was local and you will do the other bits. My Dad showed me netto selling transfer pumps but I don't lknow if they are the same.
It works well for me because I can fill my 400l tank in minutes whereas before my van was always tied to a hose pipe by the garage. I also had to worry about turning it on and then off every afternoon. Now if the holding tank is full I could go two days before I need bother with it.
It also gives me more flexibility; i can call back and refill.
I asked you about a battery charger and you said halfords etc, well I had a netto one (my dad again) and because of erratic behaviour I have changed from 75 to 110 ah and also bought the Halfords charger. I am now using far more water though.
Is this because the previous battery wasn't any good, or does the bigger battery chuck more water out anyway?
Hi VG
I doubt if this scourer would be any good for the water marks, Try Mdr or similar product, if that doesnt work Go and buy a roll of 000 guage wire wool, this is the finest they do, (It won't scratch the windows) wet the window and the wool, with a little detergent in the water) and rub the marks gentley in a circular fasion, if that doest shift it, then the window is probablly etched with the stain and the only cure for that is window replacement.
Don't ask me why its called an IBC tank, maybe it means its a bloody big container

I bought my 240v transfer pump from toolstation there £21 from them complete with a float switch, run every day since december last year and no problems.
I also had problems with flooding the shed, but cured it by building myself a water alarm, soon as the tank is at the level I want, I have an audible alarm go of in my kitchen, Cost a fiver to build.
Re your water, and your new battery?
Do you use a varistream or similar controller with your pump? I'm susspecting you don't
Now you have a good battery and a decent charger, your running your pump the way it should be? at its full 12v, this way you will use more water, To help you on that one I would need to know how your pump system it made up. ie fitted controller, or by using it to drain back into the tank?
The amps of a battery give you the lenght of time your pump will run, so the more amps the longer it will run, its the voltage that runs the pump, you old battery was probably on its last legs by the sound of it, this reduces the voltage, hense your pump will run slower, giving less water out put..
Hope thats answered some of your questions.
