I've always used Gleaming (Hiscox) myself.
Property being worked upon is a must thesesdays and after a little mishap was so glad I had the right cover so would recommend them highly.

I used simply business aswell but this year I'll go with gleaming. The one thing that insurers sometimes exclude is covering you for the ' property work on' . which makes cheap insurance totally useless when you want to make a claim!

Indeed Shrek... As In my case if I did not have the right cover in place at the time of a little mishap  I would have had to fork out a few thousand pounds out of my own pocket instead.

APlan but I think they've been a bit sneaky with the wording so next time round I'll go for Gleaming with separate insurance for cleaning roofs.

A-Plan quoted me £235 this year for 5 million P/L and tools cover  :o :o  not a chance when it can be bought for less than half the price , Although considering Gleaming this year which was £305 but far more comprehensive but in 16 years i have only had one incident which cost me £80.00

The only reason why I went with Gleaming in the first place as found out it was such a pain to try get quotes for public liability insurance from other brokers that include the cleaning services I wanted covered. Not only that I did not want just basic public liability insurance either as wanted included treatment risk and property being worked upon cover too. If any activities you do it's not written down in black and white in a policy you are not covered so for me a Hicox policy was a no brainer.

Regards to A-Plan an A-Plan guy on another forum last year when I posted this below from the gleaming site after a comparison to his offering said they could not come even close to the comprehensive cover of a Hiscox Puplic Liability Policy offers.

For pressure cleaning at height or more specifically pressure cleaning a roof was apparently not covered when I spoke to Gleaming on the phone. Is anyone using an insurance company that covers everything including roofs.

I renewed my insurance a few months back with Polished Insurance, Hiscox used to underwrite their policies but they no longer use them and have now switched to Axa, not sure if Gleaming Insurance have done likewise?

Got a quote from Alexander Swan including property being worked on  cover for scratched glass using cleaning solutions etc and tools cover 5 mill P/L £200 per annum the policy doesn't list pvc cleaning although i was told i would be covered only do a handful of jobs a year .

£305 from Gleaming which covers about 9 things i don't clean which is obviously factored into the price i may well contact Hiscox o directly over the weekend as their website is a pain .

Roof cleaning is not on the hiscox activities list which makes no odds to me. Sorry I can't help as I don't clean tiled roofs on buildings anyway so never had the need to find cover for that service.
