Lol.
Get off your high horse Paddy.

Agree with JD for once. It is dishonest.

I agree with the sentiment.
But likening the OP to a thief isn't the same.

Dirty dont you think its one of those questions that really doesnt
need to be asked

I don't think he was asking whether he should return it or not.
I took it as he had already decided to. And rightly so.
But he had got no response from his initial contact so how far should he go?
There will be a limit.

I would be on the doorstep handing over cash if necessary, dont see
where there is a limit on returning what is not yours

I don't feel I can argue as I don't know the circumstances but yeah, I'd do the same.
But, I thought it could've been an EOT clean.
If they've moved then it's down to chasing the lettors. Who probably wouldn't give the new address.
The simplest thing to do would be to make a payment BACS of £135 to the account the £150 came from.
But, never to miss an opportunity for a bit of advertising, I was saying to try and let the lettors know that that was what he was trying to do.
Some people have taken the OP as a git who was looking for justification in keeping the pennies.
I didn't. I don't know what his intent was though, just saying how I read.

I get what your saying, and maybe i have a pessimistic mind but the topic title is 'should i do anymore?' Not 'what should i try next?'
Suggesting intent in keeping the money?

If i'm wrong in I disagreeumption*, i apologise to the op

Edit: *my a55umption (filter correction lol)

I wouldn't be handing over cash when they paid by bank transfer. Try explaining that to the tax man.

if I had wanted to keep the money, I wouldn't have called back to the house or left a note telling them that they had over paid me.

my thoughts are that I will give them 2 weeks to get in touch in case they have gone on holiday or realised their mistake and then go knocking again.

I have no intention of keeping money that does not belong to me.

Happened to me a while ago. Sent me £300 instead of £15. She realised and called me before I noticed.
