We text or call every single one, every single time.  Texts are much quicker and simpler so we prefer them.

Why?  Because we're idiots.

Vin

Every custie - every time...

all my custies are numbered so no searching for addresses..

Even kept the details of 70 odd dumped custies - just in case they've got the nuts to try again!

I text a few customers. If they want a text then i'll send one
Dont see the problem as regards to cancellations...
Do you really want to clean someones windows that doesnt want you to clean them anyway? ''Excuse for them to cancel'' is balls, they wont cancel if they genuinely want a regular window cleaner. The 1000's of jobs that people have on here, i wouldnt have thought that'd be a problem....

I get the flexibility thing (cant be bothered feeling)but everyone on here cleans in rain so that shouldnt be a massive deal either....

You may not like texting the night before (thats fair enough) but to turn around and say it dont work and its a silly thing to do is wrong seen as so many dont have a problem doing it

To turn round & say that not texting your customers don't work is also silly as so many that don't do it have zero problems. ::)roll

You may even find if you read the first line properly i say i text a few customers (implying not all customers) so i'm a little bemused as to where ive implyed that if you dont text then it wont work...?

I reckon if you were to put a poll up - text all custies or not only 5% would text all. There IS a reason for that result too. :)

I text and it works well for me and my customers.
If others don't text and it works well for them then fair play to you.
We all work in different ways and use the methods that best suit us.

Unfortunately I need access and many of my customers have nice houses with big side gates, including electric gates at the front.
I'm coming up 50 years old and can't be arsed to climb over. Easier to text.
