Why you jealous your business so small you can't afford more then one vehicle? When you have a business worth talking about then start taking the p out of others, my smart car ROI is properly ten fold to your one van

So size does matter?

well, you would have thought so, when it comes to willy waving

I think I might be qualified to comment here.

Ian Lancaster Window Cleaner comprises 10 vans all fitted with DIY WFP systems without the necessity of incurring any debt whatsoever.

Maybe I'm "The exception that proves the rule", but I think our record shows that a reliable and efficient WFP system does not equate to the spending of thousands of pounds.

Nor does having a vastly expensive set-up have any direct effect on the earning potential of any individual.

I applaud people like DMC if they have the marketing drive to sell their product, after all that's what we all do - but I do think looking down on us lesser mortals because we are not blinded by their brilliance is inviting the sort of criticism displayed in this thread.

Good post Ian. Says it all really.

What a condescending article.
Lee must be really hard up for contributors to give this guy so much room.
Basically if you pay lots for a very simple machine to pump water to a brush you'll make more money and be a better window cleaner and not die poor.
I'm am engineer by trade and I dare say I know more about how systems work than he does.
It makes my blood boil to see people like this basically trying to con the uninformed out of their hard earned.
It reads like one of those lying I can change your life and make you rich if you only give me lots cash articles you read in down market magazines.
Did he really feel the need to get up at 3am to tell us how frustrated and sad for us he is that we all haven't forked out for his pump, tank and controller?

to be fair i don't think Carl actually says that you should buy one of their systems.  i think his point is your aspirations and your beliefs about what you can achieve are the most important thing to what you achieve.

if you are only looking to pay your bills and make a bit on the side, and there is nothing wrong with that, that is what you'll achieve.

if Carl is guilty of something it is perhaps believing that others should have the same aspirations as he has, which is to grow a massive business in this industry.

Don't buy that at all.
I've read many articles such as this.
They start off on a similar tack about feeling the need to share feelings (I.e getting up at 3am to write)
Then it refers subtly all the way through to his system and why life will be fantastic if only you take the leap of faith with him.
Its old hat and may still work on some.

Im confused why DMC Window Cleaners name has been dragged into it and slagged off when I thought this post was about "dying broke" if you don't buy a Concept2o system?  ???

I find it harder to believe that running around in a Smart Car is worthwhile!  He's got a 50L tank in their!  That would last us an hour i think  ???
That's why DMC got upset.  ::)roll

thats the forum for you ........................... very few posts stay on track however DMC "dragged" himself into this post ...... IMO Richard was only stating that a SMART car with a small tank (50litres I think but cant be a rsed reading article) wouldnt last very long which is true however I think DMC took his observation as a critisism ???

Only reason he was "slagged off" was due to his handling of the alledged critisism plus some folk like a little bear baiting  ;)

You have to admit it's an interesting "concept" putting a DIY system in a "yer missus's" smart car with 50 err 75 litres to get business for a business.

I quite like that.

I also like:

Gordon Bennet said "run DMC" which I thought was a smart concept.

 ;D
