About ten years ago I managed to get myself up to 9points! And have had a clean liscense for 5+ years now, so I was gutted to think I was getting 3 points Im more than happy to do the awareness course especially as its only £23 more than the fine!

There's a dial on the dashboard in front of you called a speedometer. It tells you what speed you are doing  ;)
The pen is mightier than the sword (and a lot easier to write with!)

I did an awareness course 3 years ago and it's much better than getting the points.

1 thing I hadn't thought about before the course was a question and answer session on why a van driver died while waiting to turn right into a customers drive.

And apparently it turned out that he was shunted (not hard) from a car behind and because he already had his wheels turning right the shunt caused his car to go right, into the path of a lorry that flattened him.

I'd never given that much thought before but I always keep the steering straight now until I move. With respect I would have thought the point of the story was to warn you not to speed rather than the direction of your wheels.

Apart from that little nugget all you had to do was turn up and take part. Easy peasy.
