I just cant win!

1 specific customer.

Turn up 8am - 'your early aint ya'

Turn up on exactly 6 weeks - 'cor, its been 6 weeks already has it'

Turn up on 8 weeks - 'we were gonna phone you and see where you'd got to'

Every time without fail, there is an issue, drives me crazy.

But, its £20 cash every time and an easy job so we just bite our tongues.

In a meeting on a Monday morning back in my corporate days.

Couple of minutes late, door opens and in walks one of the team.

"Hi Caroline, just started, how are you?" says the manager

"Awful; woke up feeling terrible, kids were a nightmare and the journey in couldn't have been worse"

"Wow, that answer's raised the morale in the room!" said the manager (smiling).  "Shall we have another go? ..... Hello Caroline, how are you?"

"Pretty good, thanks, sorry I'm a couple of minutes late"

They are almost certainly unaware that they are doing it.  Let them know and they might change their behaviour.  Do it with a joke and a smile.

just laugh it off.  make light of it.

what we read into people's comments says more about us and our mood than theirs.

you probably go there expecting a comment now, and then it winds you up when you hear it.

I don't mind if custy's comment if I am early or late. It only bothers me if they say 'not today'.

I've been bothered a lot this week!  ;D

Glad you posted that - cuz it helps me remember that how ever much it rains and however much I let custies get under my skin and however much I occasionally miss a warm office or company motor, I'd never ever ever ever ever ... did I say ever? ... go back to my corporate sales days!

Should have added that even two minutes into the first meeting on a Monday I was already bored out of my skull

Me too on going back into sales.
