Quick booster pump pressure switch question
« on: February 28, 2012, 07:22:17 pm »
Just bought a 'new' second hand draper booster pump which has a pressure gauge and switch.
I've connected my hoses just like my old one and turned outside tap on - gauge shows psi of 35 - turn booster pump on, the pressure then rockets to 85 then pump turns itself off! Pressure then drops down, when it hits 35 pump kicks in again - and it just seems to stay on this cycle
Any guys know what I've done wrong, and how can I get the pump to stay on a constant pressure?
(I've tried turning the little pressure dial but it makes no difference !!
Cheers  :)

Some of them have spring adjusters to set the cut off pressure and the sensitivity.

Is that an easy fix? I assume you take the cover to the switch off? But what then mate? Ta

Sound good to me - but how do I get it to stay on constant? I'm pretty sure it's the switch but even after looking at the instructions online, I can't find a solution!  :)

Found out that I should of pressurised the system to 1.5 bar before using - anyone know if it's still ok to use? I assume I use a foot pump or something ? Ive emptied/drained it all and tried pumping air in but the gauge doesn't seem to move?
Any help would be much appreciated

The gauge measures water pressure so u need foot pump to pressurise tank and then take tyre pressure gauge and see if u at correct bar ... Rekon no damage done ... Think from description u got same booster pump as me 250 SS I think mine is from machine mart
