Thanks for reply will look at george... thanks for advice on rotation  on a4 makes sense ... Question was if you miss a clean how do you re slot them back in on coming days... Shorter working days make it more diificult to re do next day or coming days.... More advice is better.

BUMP
Going to be canvassing this week...... Came accross this thread, just wandering how you guys figure out the next clean of a customer?

e.g. If I got two new customers Joe and John today 9/1/12 and cleaned them I want to figure out the next cleans.
Joe is monthly and John is bi-monthly.

To figure out the next clean would you use 9th of every month for Joe and 9th of every other month for John.

Or would you count 20 weekdays from the 9/1/12 for Joe and 40 weekdays from 9/1/12 for John which would work out Joes next clean is 6/2/12 and Johns is 5/3/12.

Hope this makes sense!

Sean our rounds work on a 4,8 or 12 weekly cycle not on a calendar month!

But there are arguments for both systems - i.e.

4 weekly is 13 cleans per year so your turnover is 8.5% more without needing extra customers and providing your on time the customer gets cleaned on the same day of the week.

Calendar Monthly gives you a few extra days to catch up or take time off if your up to date and it makes it much easier to set up standing orders and direct debits.

I agree that this is the best solution.

Decide what cleaning cycle you will offer and stick to it. I would start by 4 and 8 week cleans, but focus your customers on 4 week cleans - you want them to be your norm. We have found that a couple of customers who insist on a 2 weekly clean are a liability every second week as we have to go into the area especially to do them. People who want 2 weekly cleans should pay a premium over 4 weekly.

As you enter each customer into George, with a cleaning cycle then the computer will plan it for you. There might be the odd one that gets left over in an area we can't do. They just get held until we go back into the area again or some have suggested to use Saturday as a tidy up day.

Definitely sticking to monthly and bi-monthly and will be getting George when I build my round up. I was just wanting to find out the best way of figuring out the next clean, sticking to the same date every month or counting 20 weekdays for next clean?

we've split our round into 4 separate 'rounds'. if you clean on the same date, it could end up being a weekend the following month!

when we cleaned 4 weekly (we are now 5 weekly as round expanded), we used to clean in 28 days time. now we cleaned 35 days, which is 5 weeks of 7.
