how does your customers pay you because lots of my customers are old and don't have the Internet.

Cheque in the post with a supplied sae suffices most.

I deliberatly have allways collected from those customers who dont leave payment for me....WHY.....because i feel the need to run my business with that personal touch. How many times on here do you hear wc's moaning their sorry asses off that the industry has got a bad name, that we should be licensed so our customers know who they are dealing with?...how can they if we dont see them.
Ok,fair do's to the boys who run big rounds on residential stuff,it is understandable that collecting becomes a pain, but lets be honest half of the wc's on here run fairly small managable rounds (although many would like us to believe they are the next dragon.. ::)) within fairly short distances,so collecting cant be that time consuming.
Yes i suppose i could instruct the majority of my customers to pay via the internet,no doubt there are some that would even be persuaded to pay via standing orders, but would i have that personal rapport with them that i have now...of course not.
Alongside all of that goes the additional cleaning services that we provide, face to face we get a lot...if i didn't see them then i wouldn't....it's a bit like doorknocking or leaflets...which gets the most productive results...face to face imo.
I run a small friendly wc service, like many, and intend to keep that personal touch as part of my business. :)

well said daniel , concept at 46p for a 1st class stamp  plus the cost of an envelope surely it would be  cheaper to go collecting. MIKE

Payatrader has spotted that there are a number of questions about their card processing service:

- Multiple Users - you can have 99 additional users/employees linked to a single Payatrader ID and where the payments can be separately tracked. Just logon to the site to apply.
Each additional ID costs £3.00 (a one-off charge)

- iPhones, iPads and other 3G devices  - payments can be taken from these devices by logging onto www.payatrader.mobi.

- Minimum Charges are not in addition to transaction fees. The minimum charge payable for all transactions is 30 pence - except where a customer pays by phone via the Payatrader call centre, where the minimum fee is £3.00.

- Telephone Payments - traders can take payments over the phone using the Virtual Terminal. However, if a customers calls the Payatrader call centre the minimum charge is £3.00.

- Merchant Account - there is no need to apply for a separate merchant account, so no need to deal with a bank.

We hope this information is helpful. If you have any other questions, please email them at enquiries@payatrader.com or call 0844 247 2450
